Kazuhito Suzuki, known to his friends as “K,” grew up in the mountains of Yamanashi Prefecture near Kōfu some two hours west of Tokyo. He looks a little like an Asian James Dean, is an excellent athlete with a great arm, but is not exactly an effusive raconteur, lacking the guile to embellish an anecdote or confabulate outright for whatever gain.
